As an Account Manager (AM) for Walmart Business, your role focuses on two main goals: deepening engagement with current accounts and maintaining existing revenue streams. This role involves servicing clients, focusing on fulfilling their needs and maintaining high satisfaction, ensuring accurate reporting and analysis, creating business planning, and developing new selling strategies. This is a customer-facing role that requires a strategic thinker who can lead a team to grow key accounts in a fast-paced, "start-up" environment
Who you'll work with:
- Work directly with the Account Executive (AE) to align on broader account objectives, driving increased account penetration and growth
- Work directly with the Product team to share customer needs and ensure solution designs and Walmart Business capabilities ultimately meet expectations
- Partner with Marketing to ensure accounts are nurtured with relevant product updates, expansion options, and customer success stories
Responsibilities:
- Account Growth and Development:
- Work closely with the Account Executive (AE) to formulate and implement account strategies, with opportunities to take full account ownership after the first year
- Grow existing accounts by developing robust account strategies to drive revenue (e.g., repeat purchases, category and penetration, user/site expansion, and plan upgrades / deeper configurations)
- Run go-to-market plays to drive additional account opportunities to close
- Partner with Marketing to launch campaigns showcasing customer success stories and new capabilities to drive further engagement and sales
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary contact for customers, building strong relationships and ensuring a smooth experience with Walmart Business, regularly checking in on customers
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, challenges, and objectives to tailor solutions that enhance satisfaction and loyalty
- Liaise with customer care to address acute / repeat care issues
- Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate detailed reports for Account Executives (AE) and management team, highlighting account KPIs, customer usage trends, and actual vs expected results (from discovery)
- Draw insights on customer vs. comparable category spend, feature usage, and other key metrics
Minimum qualifications:
- Education and Experience:
- BA/BS degree
- 8+ years of experience in B2B and/or Enterprise sales
- Experience selling to procurement and/or supply chain roles
- Demonstrated success in developing and growing Fortune 1000 strategic customer accounts
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple customer accounts and their respective needs simultaneously
- Ability to efficiently drive analyses and provide recommendations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Working knowledge of Salesforce
- Adaptability:
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and market conditions.
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with B2B retail and procurement
- Understanding of the competitive landscape and key players in B2B retail
